These two wonderful ladies provided motivation for me to complete Love So Amazing. Aunt Jane Hawthorne and Aunt Joan Benz, sisters to Bert and Colleen respectively, urged me to finish the book while they were still alive. Mission accomplished!

  1. I am very excited to read this book! Uncle Bert and Aunt Colleen worked with my parents, Jerry and Pat Couenhoven in Yurimaguas, Peru.

  2. Hello Gilbert! I just got a call from my brother Joel Veldt, telling me he had spoken with you on the radio!!!!! I am the oldest of Gerben and Beverly Veldt’s children, but you will probably remember my older (half)brother Tim, from our time at Navajo Gospel Mission! would love to reconnect with you

    1. Hi Becky,

What a surprise to connect with Joel. Our family lived at Sand Springs most of the time you were at NGM. I was born in 1953. I was the fourth of the five Gleason boys. Tim would probably have been the age of my older brothers. I’m sure we moved into the home your family lived in after you returned to Michigan. I was there until 1967 when I moved to Southern California for high school.

My parents remembered your parents fondly and often spoke of them. I would love to find out more about your family and the path you have walked. So thankful we have reconnected.

      Gilbert
